And the king of Babylon provided Jehoiachin a daily portion for the rest of his life, until the day of his death.
This passage of story concerning the reviving which king Jehoiachin had in his bondage we had likewise before (Kg2 25:27-30), only there it is said to be done on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month, here on the twenty-fifth; but in a thing of this nature two days make a very slight difference in the account.

And [for] his food, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life. (q) That is he had allowance in the court, and thus at length he had rest and quietness because he obeyed Jeremiah the Prophet, while the others were cruelly ordered that would not obey him.
