So they arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Syrians. But when they came to the edge of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no one there.
We are here told, I. How the siege of Samaria was raised in the evening, at the edge of night (Kg2 7:6, Kg2 7:7), not by might or power, but by the Spirit of the Lord of hosts, striking terror upon the spirits of the besiegers.

And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians,...., The dusk of the evening, or the evening twilight, as appears from Kg2 7:9, and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria; not the further part of it, but the edge or border of it nearest to them: behold, there was no man there...
they rose up in the twilight--that is, the evening twilight (Kg2 7:12). the uttermost part of the camp of Syria--that is, the extremity nearest the city.
