Whatever seems good to you and your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do, according to the will of your God.
We have here the commission which the Persian emperor granted to Ezra, giving him authority to act for the good of the Jews; and it is very ample and full, and beyond what could have been expected. The commission runs, we suppose, in the usual form: Artaxerxes, King of kings.

For the beautifying and ornamenting the temple, Ezr 7:27, bestow it out of the king's treasure house; where the money collected by tribute, tax, and custom, was deposited; his exchequer, as it may be called, see Ezr 6:8.
