Here we have, I. Full instructions given concerning the meat-offerings and drink-offerings, which were appendages to all the sacrifices of animals. The beginning of this law is very encouraging: When you come into the land of your habitation which I give unto you, they you shall do so and so, Num 15:2.
Commenting on Numbers 15:1-21
And for a drink offering thou shalt offer a third part of an hin of wine,.... The same quantity of wine was to be used in the drink offering as of oil in the meat offering, Num 15:4, for a sweet savour unto the Lord, that it might be acceptable to him.
And for a drink offering thou shalt offer the third [part] of an hin of wine, [for] a sweet savour unto the LORD. (c) The liquor was so called, because it was poured on the thing that was offered.
